"Most percussion instruments are less tricky to take care of. Polish for cymbals can be bought at a music store, but keeping the cymbal dry and wiping it down after practicing will keep it from tarnishing. Drums can be wiped down with a damp cloth and dirty heads can be cleaned with a light soap on a cloth. If you've had your drum out in the rain, make sure to dry all the parts of the head. Skin heads (like on bongos) can be cleaned with just water, and make sure to loosen the head when you do because it will soak in the water and when it dries it will shrink again. Skin heads are also really sensitive to cold and warm weather, so keep it in a temperature controlled room if possible. Other percussion instruments can be wiped down with damp cloths and maintained as such rather simply in that way."

...I talked to Mrs Koh about it. According to her, we cannot get those stuff with our own money. Instead, we need to give ms lim a list of what we need and she has to approve it before we can get them. If she ms lim approves of it, she'll either get it for us or we get it ourselves and then claim from treasurers. yea.

Something i realised while spring-cleaning on tuesday,
I found 3 pencils in the basket which belong to smart alecks who think that by keeping their pencils in the section area, they'll never have to be fined for not bringing their pencils. so smart!... later your pencils'll run out of lead and i'll laugh.HAHAha. you'd still have to pay for the fine. (:

Remember to practice! eh....if you dont have sticks with you, USE CHOPSTICKS LAH! hehe. i left mimi+momo in the band room too.): but i have timp sticks at home though. hee.

today was spring cleaning again!

only kimberley samantha and i were there and we

• vacummed (sp?) the floor of the whole section area
• packed the corner infront of the timpani
• cleared the stuff behind the smallest timpani (singular timpano?)
• cleared alot of mr beans, cobwebs and spiders
• arranged all the stands, counted them and found out that stand no. 24 was non-existent and there was a clone of stand no. 20
• tried to untangle the currently half untangled fishing line that's supposedly for the triangle
• (kimberley did this) cleaned the aircons

IN CONCLUSION, today's spring cleaning was productive! go three of us!

Inunion '06.

So Inunion is over, and I guess all I can say is that we're really really sorry, and that we'll work harder together, and never never let this happen during SYF next year. We're all learning from this, so practise more, and always watch conductor during practice.We'll make each band practice after this the best one we've had.

hoho so we played variations on an english folk song and imperatrix (spelling?) today for bandprac. so fun :D i like perc solos yay

and just to add words to my post, here's a wonderful quote by our wonderful misuzu this wonderful morning when she was trying to screw back the toms onto the drumset (which were so heartlessly rearraged and left to die by an unidentified person/people)

oh to add on, sam had her first auditions today! (first right) go sam jiayou for inunion. must act cool on the drumset :D and yay to us sec twos, we're are having our second inunion!
