Inaugural Y1'15 Post!!

Hi Sperckle!!

  I'm Kirsten and I'm a not-yet-initiated Perc who's scared to death for her upcoming Inunion (especially since I left my DRUMSTICKS [and not to mention my waterbottle and pencil agh] in the band room so I CAN'T PRACTICE AND QC2 IS ON MONDAY) (I'll take up Megan's suggestion and use chopsticks) and I'll be writing my very first post here today! *inserts party hat emoji*

  Today was a little bit more eventful than most Prac days! Janika kept going on about Senpais and pedoing her juniors, which was a kind of traumatic experience; Faith's foot started bleeding??; Megan thinks that she sprained her ankle (or sustained some other injury of the same calibre); Lohitha exemplified being a housekeeping blessing by staying back to yell at the rubbish in the many dark dark corners of the Percs area; and we saw Victoria dancing really enthu-ly!!

  But that all happened during Sectionals from 2.30 to 4.30, and from then onwards I just lonered (new term coined) in the Vibes corner, waiting for Mr Wong to reach bar 127 so that I could hit something and be useful a grand total of two times.

  Speaking of playing -- Janika spon-ed drumset today for our Pop Medley!

  Also speaking of our Pop Medley - it looks so complicated omg I can't imagine how anyone could have arranged it THANK YOU VICTORIA <3

  But I think that our whole section's improving really steadily!! Today during sectionals we all managed to play semiquavers in sync (which is a very very very big feat for 6 teenagers playing crotchet=163 on very loud drums) and even though it all poofed back into nonexistence when we tried playing the whole of Mr Ora's warmup I'm still proud <3

  Also LOHITHA please stop stressing out over Pop Medley okay we'll all slowly learn it together with you and make sure you're done and ready to play scoreless by the 6th of November.

  Okay the scoreless thing is a bit far-fetched but you get my point

  (In case a sleepy person comes back to read this post and does not get my point, my point is that Lohitha should chill)

  Also I would like to commend Mr Wong for being so expressive in his conducting - the fact remains that how much a band gives you is how much you ask from them.

  And Hanis we missed you :'( Please come back soon and write here too

  I think that's all we did for band prac today!! Gomen for not having much to write eheheh oh wells I'll try to become more articulate in the far future

founders day over!

HI!! so founder's day was 2 days ago! (sorry for posting late).

the rest of the band were doing gimmicks and us percussion were hiding behind the banner.. hahaha.

anyway it was q fun i guess. i played the bass drum part!! and janika the toms and sophia the floor tom and lohitha the glock

haha changing parts is q fun tho i guess

anyway the food was fantastic like always!!!! XD

so next up is inunion! haha time to get the section ensemble back on track & shit i can't find a few strips ><

nevermind, anyway i'll get megan and faith to post too~~ after that i'll get the sec1s yay!

ndp'15!!!

Today was NDP!!!!!!!!

The most sucky part was shifting all the instrus from the band room to the parade square ugh D:
The second most sucky thing was me messing up the last bit for my timpani part during the National Anthem D: (the emoji's influences by janika)
HAHA but other than that it went great hehe im happy i did relatively okay except for that timpani part

okay so then we went to watch all the celebrations @ mini amphi and it was so cool and fun HAHA we were all jumping up and down during the singing of the National Day songs :D

then we basically took a lot of pictures and sat around in the band room waiting for the founders day prac at 11 haha

founders day prac omg the chimes it was SO HEAVY we took like 10 minutes to get it up the five steps leading to the backstage area in the hall???
it was q boring HAHA mostly we just kinda sat around in the band room and took more pictures while waiting for our turn
but it was fun hanging around with percs hehe yall never fail to make me laugh :')

basically today was exhausting but it was worth it because it was also so fun hehe

NDP

first NDP as SL and last NDP ever!

ㅠㅠㅠ feeling so sad rn i cant believe its been 3 NDPs for me already ㅠㅠㅠ we did well. only the drum solo janika and i a bit HAHAHAHA. after NDP we stayed in the band room and took pictures as a section!! percs '16!! megan's film is so nice btw!!! then after the whole performances thingy we had founder's day prac and do you have any idea how heavy the chimes is !???? and i have battlefield scars now. anyway yeah i feel myself missing this all already ㅠㅠㅠ i wish sophia a speedy recovery and joanne a get well soon too!

also performance next thursday -- arts assembly !! ;D

sigh im feeling sad about this NDP again. also i cant believe i'll see talia again for the REACT thing!!! so nervewrecking ㅠㅠㅠ

Hi everyone!

So this is my first post as SL ˘◡˘

or more like o.o not ready

so the first that i gotta say is that i'm always feeling weird when posting on section blog -_- so i told the sec2s and 1s to post after every band prac kekeke so i'm supposed to be posting about monday's and megan about thursday's but okcan i'm late and i'll remind her later

so i didnt get into exco and i was q sad :( but what happened was damn embarrassing too ok shall not say

Since I posted so late i forgot what happened on Monday already ;__; So i shall say what i gotta do as SL for the remaining of this year and the upcoming year!!

1. train up everyone's sight reading skills
2. train up sec1s theory (importance level 1000000)
3. teach megan and faith proper skills
4. teach the sec1s to master basics

kkcan btw we might get a new marimba!! thank god megan was playing the high range then Mr wong heard how out of tune it is 🙇🙏🙇🙏 Also i was very proud of lohitha yesterday for printing sight reading scores! and kirsten for being steady at warmups ˘◡˘ i believe if we work hard enough we will be able to pull up the section's standards! i will work hard too 👌

hey section! I had my last official prac this week )-: (09-07-2015) ahh it's honestly a bittersweet feeling + hints of self denial (can you believe it!!! I'm now ALUMNI??)

Mr Ho came for instructor prac for the first half where he took Percs 16 while Sophia and I just hoboed HAHA oops
then @ full band, we played a lot of old pieces and it was super SUPER nostalgic. (stuff like Sarabande??? and Imperatrix omg plus WHAV and and Mayday and Tangled and AKB and ya you get the gist haha) MOF was the last piece and it was so apt (actually Sakura no Shiori was even more on point but o well). Dorcas ran out crying after that and I was like o... o___o

You know, my batch had this agreement to not cry!! haha sian I really wasn't planning on crying too.
But when I was packing the scores I was hit with this sudden sense of realisation that omg this is probably the last time I'm gonna do part allocation, the last time I'm gonna hold so many scores at one go lol and like they were all songs I've played before and :'( ya cue single-tear then sniffling then more tears and ughHHHHHHH MY EYES ARE SO PUFFY IN ALL THE PHOTOS

ok aaaaanyways, after an emotional (lmao) 20 minutes ? or so, we took attendance as top batch for the laast time and went off to take batch photos lol

on our way to the bus stop for section dinner, we got severely distracted and ended up rolling (!!!!!!) and lying on the track trying to take photos HAHAHAAHA. /cue many selfies and 2!!!! successful jumpshots later, we were finally enroute to dinner/

We had dinner at Plaza Sing under the escalator AKA the ultimate hobo spot (also my favourite <3)
The Awfully Chocolate staff just kept glaring at us AHHAH but o well it was a nice dinner.
Megan was absorbed in her Wattpad story or something and like every 5 minutes she'll go "UGH SO STUPID" or "AWWWW /squeals". Kirsten was vvvv zen with her Yoshinoya while Lohitha and I were really shrieky?? over tomato sauce HAHA and Victoria was just diligently eating.

We're not going to see each other as often anymore and that makes me really sad )-: But lol we're still gonna be in the same campus for another semester or so, so trust that I'll crash as often as I can! (but not too often or not yall won't miss me HAHAHA jkjk) also there's PHOTOTAKING!!! and founders' day!!! and the newly implemented weekly section lunch thingo hehe maybe my post-band days will be less lonely than I thought it would be.

mmm I have a lot of things I want to say which I can't or else I'll run out of content for farewell (either that or I'll end up repeating myself oops)

To put it very succinctly, thank you to everyone who has been part of my band journey one way or another!!!!!!!!!!

To Batch 12! Sometimes I look back and remember what an awkward sec 1 I was (ugh I feel like burying my head in the ground). I still have really fond memories of our really short time together haha yeah thanks for being my very first role models (-:

To HWI SOO!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING MY DIRECT oh my. I'm really sorry for not being a good one :'( (no really, I'm still cringing when I remember how sucky I was) I'm really really grateful for all that you've done for me. I couldn't fully appreciate it until I got my own downdirects and I now know that it really isn't easy. I haven't seen you in forever haha ahh I miss you a lot. Come back and visit soon ? You can meet your grand down directs :)!!!!

To TALIA AND HELEN!!! I've stepped down!!! omg it feels so surreal didn't yall just leave like yesterday??? :'( haha I miss yall a lot so visit more often!!! and please jio me when yall are coming back so we can crash together /chiaaang/ hheeehhehe I'm glad we still keep in touch. BAND CHALET!!

band chalet ended yesterday!! yayy haha it was really funnn :D we had amazing race which was so tiring because we had to run so much omg. in the end we found out we were fighting for bathing time later on?? but then in the chalet later on no one followed it HAHA
the chalet at aloha changi was kinda creepy when we got there but i think that was because we all already had in our minds that it was haunted bc of changi beach and all?? but no nothing happened hahahahaha
joanne, victoria, faith and i watched the pyramid at night. it was supposed to be fun but really all we were doing was pointing out all the dumb things that the characters were doing. it was so lame like there was this character who fell into a bed of spikes and was impaled and then she was half-eaten by flesh-eating cats?? but after all that she was still alive and the other characters tried to lift her up from the spikes???? omg why would anyone do that i would just shoot her to let her die faster and not suffer for so long ><
anyway, after that we had a night surprise at like 12++ which wasn't much of a surprise to us bc we were all still awake haha. it was inspired by spirited away bc they had played the movie earlier (but we didn't watch it bc we were watching the pyramid ><) some people were really groany and whiny oops but it's understandable bc it was so late...but victoria and i found it quite fun hehe
i was the first to fall asleep after that hehe i was out at like 3am BUT victoria, faith and joanne stayed up for like 2 hours more to draw on my face with nail polish??? HAHA but they failed bc i woke up at 7am and realised what they had done so i scraped everything off my face and then i fell asleep again HAHA so by the time they woke up it was all gone :P
we went to changi beach after that, and then we had breakfast and then we played water games which were quite fun hehe :-) and then after that we went to play in the park nearby and we played on the swings like little children...also we climbed up the rope thing and i took so long because i'm so scared of heights >< sigh.
oh and i bought a pair of shorts and changed into them because it was sooo hot and i was wearing pants oops
we also bought a bubble blowing thing (sorry i forgot what it's called) hehe so many photo opportunities with that
also, since we were at changi beach, we could see the planes flying by and heading towards changi airport! it was so cool because they were so close and we could actually see what was written on them and stuff :D
on this outing i also discovered that joanne takes really REALLY nice photographs!! hehe
yes so overall, this outing was rlly fun and i really enjoyed it :-)

ALOHA EVERYONE

Hi!!!!!! So yesterday and today was our band chalet!!!! Sigh we were camping at ALOHA CHANGI, apparently the place the old Changi hospital was at.... Haiyo all those ghost stories and stuff. It was really fun, Faith, Lohitha, Joanne, Sophia and I were there. Sophia left really early cuz she wasn't feeling so well :/ Anyway we played all the games and stuff. Haha and the chalet floor is really dirty!!! and random insects fly in at night :/ so ew :( so Joanne and I wore our shoes in hahaha. They were playing spirited away.... But basically our section just huddled?? cuddled?? in our room (we were sharing with basses) and watched THE PYRAMID. Ok there were scary moments, but the thing is most of the time we weren't paying attention lol. And the characters are really dumb... The ending is quite tragic also. Sigh then there was night surprise!!!! Insp by Spirited Away ofc. Think some people were pissed but I actually enjoyed it?? there was the door quiz!! basically the person we were supposed to save is behind one out of two doors. But outside of the doors stand a person individually. One lies and one tells the truth. We can only ask one of them a question regarding the location. So how do we find out which door the prisoner? is in???
So basically, we ask either one: If we were to ask where ___ is, where would the other person point to?
Yep and that gives us the location!
Then Joanne Faith and I stayed up to prank Lohitha....2 hours! But it was so fail cuz she just rubbed off the stuff we put on her face before we woke up ><
So today we just went to Changi Beach and I got a really bad sunburn...

Haha so yeah. Janika couldn't make it cuz of her spine!! She's super tall now man. Even taller than me and I'm 167cm?? idek. Faith is going for op also and she's definitely gonna shoot up too lol. and we're missing Megan too... Sec1s were overseas!!! Sophia gws!!!
